Posted on March 12, 2013 by in Health IT, News, ONC, Patient Empowerment

As we entered final approach winding down a furious week of HiMSS13 activity we had the opportunity to sit for a few moments with Lygeia Riccardi, aka @lygeia, Director, Office of Consumer eHealth, Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health IT, in Department of Health and Human Services.

Perhaps second only to Health IT evangelist and signature ‘smiling bowtie’ Dr. Farzad Mostashari (@farzad_ONC), the National Coordinator for Health Information, Lygeia is another familiar public face and articulate voice in the efforts of the Federal Government to facilitate meaningful consumer engagement in their health care.

Lygeia shares her thoughts on the HiMSS13 experience, the status of healthIT diffusion, adoption and updates the Blue Button Initiative. For additional context check out ‘The Power of the Blue Button‘.
