HiMSS Social Media 2013: The NOLA Strain
Last year HiMSS social media staff supported by many of us in the community who do this for the most part as a passion and more often than not ‘for free and for fun’ participated in a big way to build an awesome ‘digital footprint‘. In fact, one of the sessions I added to the program agenda at the Social Media center was captured by Dan Bowman from @FierceHealth in ‘Tips for leaving a social media ‘digital footprint‘. For the complete deck, see: The social media digital footprint: A HiMSS 2012 Presentation.

But for starters let’s drill into the information and resources posted at Social Media Center. Per HiMSS staff:
Social media use in healthcare is increasing rapidly. HIMSS will provide you with resources and tools to help you understand the current adoption and use of social media in healthcare, including topics such as blogs, crowd sourcing, and virtual social worlds.

For an up close and personal clip, including a shoutout for the live #HITsm tweetchat, of HiMSS social media staff during the Las Vegas gathering see below. We filmed this at the end of a very busy and record breaking tweetstream day for a healthcare conference (according to Symplur), I chat with Cari McClean, @CariMcLean Manager Social Media, Michael Gaspar, @MichaelGaspar Associate Manager, Social Media and Ward Seward, @HIMSSWebGuy, Senior Web Designer for their thoughts on the vibrant week in Las Vegas.
